Music on Sunday; Songs inspired by other musicians

Just last week Elbow's new song came out with a clip some thought looked familiar. It looked like the 1985 Godley & Creme vid 'Cry' which wasn't that odd as Godley directed the video. He's in it and so is Benedict Cumberbatch.
I've always loved Elbow and this song is no exception. They were inspired by Godley and Creme's video and wanted to remake it.
So for today I'll try to find for artists who were inspired by others musicians musically.

this was a homage to the style and work of British singer-songwriter Robert Wyatt.

This is the Pearl Jam equivalent of Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" - a song about a deranged female fan who stalks the singer and claims he fathered her child. The song is named after Matt Lukin, the bass player for Mudhoney and Vedder's friend. When Eddie needed to escape his stalker problem, he and his wife would sometimes hang out at Lukin's place.

This Beatles-inspired song was the first single The Bee Gees recorded in England. It became their first international success.

Iggy Pop (note the name: zIGGY), Lou Reed, Marc Bolan, Gene Vincent and Jimi Hendrix ("He played it left hand, but made it too far" - Hendrix was left-handed), were all likely influences on the character Ziggy Stardust, but the only musician Bowie admits was a direct influence is Vince Taylor, an English singer who took the "rock star" persona to the extreme, calling himself Mateus and declaring himself the son of God. Taylor was popular in France in the early '60s, and Bowie met him in 1966, after his popularity had faded.
